Tay Ho Half Marathon 2026

Tay Ho Half Marathon 2026 marked my third half-marathon race, with a PB of 2 hours and 14 mins. This is an annual race that is held annually for runners to participate in April.

This was a special race for me, for various different reasons. The day before the race, I was on the Duke of Edinburg trip, hiking Ham Lon trail. However, I didn’t feel any fatigue at all when running, which quite impressed myself. I came into the race with an energized body and ‘fighting’ mindset, but the weather was extremely hot. Some of the first kilometres were extremely slow but managable. The middle section was where I enjoyed the most, flying through kilometres without paying too much attention to pace and everything else.

However, the real challenge came after I had my third gel at around the 18th KM. I think one of the reason why I had trouble in running after that was because I ate the gel too late. Even though there were only 3 KM left, it felt longer than the 18 kilometres that I have ran through. The streets were dark, heart rate went up high, forcing me to stop and walked for quite a while. However, my determination set me up again and forced me to run again. Luckily, an Indian runner was also accompanying with me, both of us pulling each other to the finish line. Then, just 20 seconds before the clock hit 2:15, I ran through the finish line feeling very proud of myself.

After the race, I felt like I had applied a lot of lessons that I learned from former races, but also learning more through this race. Especially, the fact that my teacher, Mr Josef was also running was also very special and interesting fo rme. All in all, this was as very good race✨✨✨
